A bus accident on I-95 killed 15 people after it crashed just outside of the Bronx; the last fatality was a 70-year-old man that died at 7:15 a.m. at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. The tragic bus accident is still being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and driver fatigue is possible.
According to reports, the bus driver, Ophadell Williams, told authorities he lost control of the vehicle after being hit by a tractor-trailer; however the story doesn’t connect. NTSB later spoke with the truck driver and another motorist, who both had conflicting stories from Williams’ story. The motorist told authorities that the bus driver was swerving all over the place.
While authorities were trying to figure out how the accident occurred they uncovered that Williams was a convicted felon and not quite sure why he was operating the tour bus in the first place.
The investigation is ongoing as investigators are still in the process of reviewing surveillance tapes.

In the News:
A lawsuit was filed today in St. Louis, Missouri by a family who lost a family member in a deadly motorcycle accident last year. The family decided to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Columbia and a bus driver. According to the suit, Michael Heaston collided with a city bus and died one day after the accident.
The lawsuit alleges the bus driver attempted to make a turn into an eastbound lane and didn’t see the Heaston. It also indicates that Heaston tried to swerve out of the way before colliding into the side of the bus. The victim ended up underneath the bus until emergency units arrived. Mr. Heaston was eventually taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead a day later.
The lawsuit accuses the bus driver of failing to avoid the collision. The suit claims the driver acted in a negligence manner because he wasn’t paying attention to the road at the time the accident occurred.

Snowy Conditions Causing More Accidents
Hazardous weather conditions are a major cause of accidents throughout the United States. Due to recent snow storms on the East Coast, accidents are on the rise. Snowy road conditions along with negligent drivers can be a dangerous combination. The National Weather Service continues to predict furious snow conditions throughout the region causing slippery roads and minimized visibility.
State Police and other authorities are warning motorist to stay off the roads and highways and in many cases towns and cities are in a state of emergency. While some motorists can’t avoid driving in these snowy conditions it’s highly recommended you allow extra time to get to your final destination.
It is advised that if you have to travel in these conditions that you should operate your vehicle in a safe manner by slowing down, staying off of cell phones and allowing plenty of space between other cars on the road. While many motorists will use caution when driving in the snow others are negligent and as a result accidents happen.
If you have been involved in a car accident due to the negligence of another person, regardless of road conditions, you have the right to seek fair compensation for damages. During the winter months the insurance industry is in full swing. They are backed by some of the best defense attorneys ready to try to settle for pennies on the dollar. In some cases even if negligence is proven the insurance company will try to fight for less compensation and as a result will hold up the case from settling. This is a tactic that many companies will use in hopes the plaintiff will settle for less than the fair value of their case.
While not always the first option more plaintiffs are now using lawsuit funding as a way to pay their bills until their case settles or goes to court. A lawsuit cash advance is ideal for those plaintiffs that need immediate financial help and not willing to settle for less. If you have been recently involved in a motor vehicle accident caused by severe weather conditions and negligence of another driver, contact LawLeaf today for a free lawsuit cash advance consultation.
Top Auto Insurance Coverages
Auto insurance coverage is extremely important when filing a lawsuit. As with any lawsuit the ability to pay the claim will be the difference between full compensation, partial compensation or no compensation at all. When someone is injured in a car accident due to the negligence of another person they can file a claim against the insurer. The problem that some people may run into is being involved in a car accident with an uninsured driver, under insured driver or an auto insurance company unwilling to settle a claim fairly.
There are always instances when a driver is involved in an automobile accident with an uninsured motorist making it difficult to obtain fair compensation to pay for damages. Some insurance companies may carry high risk drivers and place them into insurance programs that otherwise would be unacceptable by other companies. There are states which only require drivers to have minimum coverage. Similar to uninsured motorist, those drivers carrying minimum coverage can also be a huge liability to victims of motor vehicle accidents. If you have been involved in a catastrophic accident the probability of getting full compensation from an uninsured or under insured driver is less likely compared to a fully insured driver.
Car insurance coverage can play a significant role in the amount of money you will receive from an accident.

Car Accident Lawsuit Cash Advances on the Rise
LawLeaf announces today a major increase in the amount of applications for car accident lawsuit cash advances. The number represents both the need for financial help as well as the unwillingness for insurance companies to settle for fair compensation. Over the last few weeks LawLeaf has kept record of plaintiffs searching for car accident lawsuit cash advances. Many of our clients were seeking advances due to low settlement offers and the unlikelihood of a case to reaching settlement before going into litigation.
LawLeaf has also seen an increase in lawsuit cash advances for already settled claims. While a case may reach settlement the claimant may have to wait several weeks or months before payment is received. As a result they will apply for an advance against an already settled claim. This type of advance is called post settlement funding.
Car accident lawsuit cash advances tend to provide applicants with lower rates due to liability. Because lawsuit cash advances are based upon the strength of a case and fault is generally easier to prove in a car accident, the rates are generally lower. The lowest rate tends to be car accidents that have already reached settlement. A car accident lawsuit cash advance against a settled case is considered post settlement funding and provides the lowest rates in the industry.
When LawLeaf receives a request for a lawsuit cash advance against a car accident our first obligation is to provide our clients with the best opportunity to receive funding at a competitive rate. We also put great emphasis in providing quick turnaround for each applicant regardless the case. LawLeaf is a leader in the industry because we put our clients’ needs ahead of our own. We provide great services to each client regardless of case type and amount requests. If you are currently searching for a car accident lawsuit cash advance begin by applying with LawLeaf today.
