Lawsuit Filed against McDonald’s
A woman has filed a lawsuit against a McDonald’s after she allegedly found glass in her chick sandwich. The lawsuit was filed Friday in Cook County Circuit Court. The name listed on the lawsuit, Vjollca Lecaj, claimed she bit into a piece of glass and chewed it. According to reports, Lecaj claimed she was eating a McChicken sandwich last summer, when she shredded the inside of her mouth.
The lawsuit claims product liability and negligence. Lacaj is claiming McDonalds should be responsible because the restaurant “failed to properly inspect and maintain the processing and cooking equipment, as well as the sandwich, to avoid injury.”
The McDonald’s restaurant in Oak Lawn, McDonald’s Corporation, McDonald’s USA, LLC., and JDD Investment Company were all listed in the suit. Lecaj claimed she suffered severe and permanent damages and pain and anguish.
According to CBS News, the general manager of the McDonald’s restaurant in Oak Lawn said she did not have a comment regarding the lawsuit. Representatives of the Oak Brook-based McDonald’s Corporation and the JDD Investment Company were not immediately available for comment.
