It is reported that a truck carrying a propane tank in Chelsea, Vermont slid off a icy road and crashed. The truck ended up slipping off the side of the road before the truck tumbled to its side as a result of a sloped hill. Reports indicated the driver of the vehicle was not injured. Due to the accident the propane tank began leaking when the main valve broke. Reports indicate the truck was carrying more than 2600 gallons of propane before it started leaking.

As a result of the leak local residents were asked to leave their homes due to the propane leak. Many of the residents were met by the Red Cross who ended up providing shelter in Chelsea.
