A tractor-trailer and a van collided killing 11 people on interstate 65 about 75 miles south of Louisville in Munfordville, KY. Reports indicate the only 2 survivors of the crash were a 4 and 5 year old which were in child seats during the collision.

Among the dead was a family of Mennonites, engaged couple and the tractor-trailer driver. The family was from Marrowbone, KY a small community just outside of Burkesville, Kentucky. The accident was the deadliest road accident in Kentucky since 1998 when 27 people died when a church bus was hit by a drunk driver.

There was debris from both the tractor-trailer and van scattered along the both sides of highway. The accident caused major delays on the stretch of highway until cleanup crews were able to finally clean up the debris sometime around dawn.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
