I-75 Crash is Fatal
The southbound lane was closed for more than 5 hours after an I-75 crash occurred in Williamsburg. The semitrailer accident killed an Ohio man, according to local authorities. Kentucky State Police first reported the accident around 4:00 a.m. near the north exit of Williamsburg. According to reports the driver of the semi-truck lost control of his vehicle and went into a ravine and overturned.
David McHenry of Massillion, Ohio was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
When first responders arrived the victim was reported to have been wearing his seat belt. According to reports, the police suspected McHenry’s accident was a result of fallen asleep at the wheel. When emergency medical units arrived, McHenry’s condition became increasingly critical before he was declared dead.
Police said that they don’t suspect drugs or alcohol were the result of the crash.
Kentucky State Police are still investigating the crash. There are no other reports at this time.

A man suffered a horrible injury early Thursday when his arm was severed in a car accident. The man who has been identified as a Lexington, Kentucky resident severed his arm after his vehicle rolled over forcing his arm to outside of his window.

Reports indicate that the man was cut off and as a result he veered into the median where his car flipped several times. Two of the motorist that stopped were a nurse and an off-duty EMT. Reports indicate that the man was wearing his seat belt and it could have saved his life. The man was immediately flown to shock trauma and is listed in critical condition.

Kentucky Car Crash Kills 11
A tractor-trailer and a van collided killing 11 people on interstate 65 about 75 miles south of Louisville in Munfordville, KY. Reports indicate the only 2 survivors of the crash were a 4 and 5 year old which were in child seats during the collision.
Among the dead was a family of Mennonites, engaged couple and the tractor-trailer driver. The family was from Marrowbone, KY a small community just outside of Burkesville, Kentucky. According to reports, the family was on their way to a wedding in Iowa. The accident was the deadliest road accident in Kentucky since 1998 when 27 people died when a church bus was hit by a drunk driver.
There was debris from both the tractor-trailer and van scattered along the both sides of highway. The accident caused major delays on the stretch of highway until cleanup crews were able to finally clean up the debris sometime around dawn.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
