One highway accident on I-275 in Detroit, MI is fatal. Part of the highway was closed for several hours after a woman lost control of her vehicle and crossed over two lanes before being hit by another vehicle. According to reports the woman lost control of her vehicle, collided into a right rail, crossed two lanes and ended up getting hit by an SUV.
The woman was killed and the man driving the SUV was treated at a local hospital with minor injuries. The accident happened around 11:00 a.m. and investigators believe the cause of the crash was due to poor road conditions. The investigation is still ongoing.
This was one of a string of accidents that happened on Friday. Eastbound I-696 and Southbound I-75 were also among the other highways in the area that were affected by snow. As temperatures stay below the freezing mark, authorities are telling travelers to drive with caution. They are asking travelers to stay alert and allow extra time getting to and from their destinations.

Accident in Grand Rapids
A 22-year-old man from Grand Rapids, MI suffered injuries in a crash on U.S. 131 Tuesday Morning. His vehicle was struck around a half a mile before exits 86A-B G R Ford Highway I-196. The names of those individuals involved in the accident have not yet been released.
According to reports, a man driving 2008 Ford Taurus was driving in the right lane about to merge off of U.S. 131 when a driver of a semi-truck merged into his lane and crashed into the driver’s side of his vehicle. The car spun out of control before the crashing into the right barrier wall on U.S. 131.
The driver of the Semi truck said when he was merging into the right lane he didn’t see the vehicle coming up on the right side of the truck. The man driving the Taurus was Blodgett Hospital where he was hospitalized for minor injuries. The man driving the semi truck was not injured in the crash.
This was the second accident on U.S. 131 in as many days. An accident which happened on Monday sent several people to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Police are still investigating the accident and asking for anyone who witnessed the accident to call.

An accident in Ottawa County, Michigan, was a result of slippery conditions. A Sheriff’s deputy was at the scene of a previous accident, when his cruiser was sideswiped by a passing van. Reports indicate that the driver of the van lost control of his vehicle on westbound Interstate 96. The officer who’s vehicle was sitting in a median was responding to a previous accident. The officer was called to a rollover accident.
When the driver of the van hit the cruiser the vehicle came to a sudden stop in the middle of the highway. Moments later his vehicle was hit by another car. The driver of the car hit the van, sending the van into a parked semitrailer. The result of the accident was due to slippery roads.
Reports indicate the only person hurt in the accident was the person in the earlier rollover accident. The victim suffered a head injury and was immediately taken to a local hospital in Grand Rapids.
There are no further reports in either accident.

Michigan Assault & Battery
A jury in Michigan has convicted two people on assault & battery charges in Macomb County, MI. The jury convicted Jemall Davidson and Steven Lincoln of Clinton Township. Davidson, a 16 year old male was convicted of a felony assault with intent to bodily injury. Lincoln was convicted on a misdemeanor which is a lesser charge. Boat Accident on Lake Claims a Life
A boat accident led to the death of a Lansing, Michigan man. The accident which happened on Saturday still remains under investigation. The accident occurred on Clarke Lake sometime around 1:30 according to authorities.
The two men on board, Brian Main of Jackson County, and Charles Quebbeman of Lansing, both of fell into the water. The accident was a single boat accident.
According to immediate reports neither Main or Quebbeman were wearing life jackets. The Jackson County Sheriff Department and Columbia Township Police and Rescue responded to the call but were unsuccessful and Quebbeman did not survive.
Investigations will continue and alcohol has not been ruled out.
