A man was charged with vehicular manslaughter, negligence along with other charges for a fatal auto accident on the Long Island Expressway. The accident happened early Sunday morning and the investigation is still ongoing.

According to the latest police the fatal accident happened eastbound on the Long Island Expressway near Jamaica, Queens. A man driving a Mitsubishi Galant collided into a driver of a Lincoln Town Car. Upon impact the Town Car was engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Lincoln was immediately knocked unconscious. When emergency units arrived the driver was unresponsive to EMS personnel. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Galant, a 28 year-old male, was arrested and taken to Elmhurst Hospital located in Queens, NY. The man is still listed in critical condition.

A two car collision between Holland Avenue and Brady Avenue sends 1 motorist to the hospital with severe injuries. According to reports, an SUV and truck crashed into each other at the intersection of Brady and Holland. Syosset Pedestrian Accident

A 34-year-old Syosset man was injured Friday morning when he was hit by a car while crossing Jericho Turnpike at Michael Drive around 7:30 a.m., according to local authorities on Long Island.

The man was crossing the road, when a car side swiped him. The man who has not yet been identified suffered non life threatening injuries.

A witness at the scene of the accident ran out into the turnpike and lifted the man up and carried him to the corner of Michael Drive. The witness later said he ran out in front of man and put his hand up as oncoming vehicles approached.

When authorities showed up at the scene of the accident they detected a smell of alcohol coming from the man that was struck by the vehicle. They did not conduct a sobriety test at the scene of the accident because the victim was shortly rushed to a local nearby hospital where he is being treated for injuries sustained to his right side of his body.

The driver of the car has not been cited or ticketed in connection with the accident.
Jericho Turnpike is a busy road but it has traffic lights. The driver indicated the light was green and he did not see the pedestrian until it was too late. He indicated he tried to swerve out of the way but was not able to avoid the hitting the man.

The intersection was not closed because the man was able to get to the side of the road within seconds of the accident occurring. Local authorities are still investigating the crash.

2 people were injured after an accident on Auburndale Lane and Pidgeon Meadow Road this morning. The accident occurred several feet away from Flushing Cemetery when a man driving a 2010 Volkswagen GTI slammed into an Audi S4. One person was injured Thursday afternoon in a two-car accident at the cross sections of Nepperhan Avenue and South Broadway in Yonkers, NY. The accident happened when a 2002 Honda Accord was T-Boned by a 2009 Cadillac Escalade.

The accident caused minor delays while clean-up crews removed debris from the road.  All three vehicles were towed from the scene of the accident.

There are no other reports available as the accident is still under investigation.

Serious Personal Injury Charges for Accident in NY

New York State Police report a 22-year-old man is facing serious personal injury charges resulting from a head-on collision. The accident happened Wednesday morning in Alexander, NY, when a 22 year old man, identified as Justin Neureuter, lost control of his vehicle and hit an oncoming motorist strait on.

According to reports Mr. Neureuter was traveling with one passenger who has been identified as Casandra Koepp, a 17 year old from Alexander, NY. Mr. Neureuter was traveling northbound on Wortendyke Rd. when he swerved over the median and collided with a 54 year old, Deborah Buckenmeyer. Mrs. Buckenmeyer is from Attica, NY.

NY State Officials said that Koepp was seriously injured and had to be removed from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life. The passenger was immediately transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition. The drivers of both vehicles were reported to have sustained minor injuries.

State Police say Justin Neureuter was traveling northbound with his passenger, 17-year-old Cassandra Koepp of Alexander, when he lost control of his vehicle and it crossed the center line. 54-year-old Deborah Buckenmeyer of Attica was driving in the other direction and collided with Neureuter’s vehicle.

Neureuter faces charges for driving on a suspended license, reckless driving and a seat belt violation.
