Bellevue Woman Killed in Bus Accident

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim of a bus accident that occurred Thursday evening in Seattle. The victim, Nancy J. Biladeau, 47, of Bellevue was run over by a metro bus as it was pulling away. She was later pronounced dead at the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center. It was the same bus she had just gotten off of.

Police were called to the scene of the accident around 6:30 p.m. Police took several statements however they are still unsure of how the accident happened. According to reports the accident is still under investigation.

According to several statements, Biladeau exited the bus in East Bellevue at the intersection of NE 10th Street and Northup Way. Biadeau proceeded to waive good-bye to the bus driver and several other passengers on the bus. As the driver began to drive away he heard a noise and immediately stopped. Seconds later the driver saw Biladeau lying in the road.

While drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be the result of the accident, the driver has undergone screening in accordance to protocol.

This was the second bus accident of the day. Thursday morning another woman was hit by a bus in Seattle and is listed in critical condition. The woman who stepped off a curb was struck by a bus at the intersection of 3rd Ave. and Pine Street in downtown Seattle. The accident occurred around 8:30 a.m.
Both accidents are still under investigation.
